First Annual "Golf" Invitational
Welcome to Nice Shirt Media’s first-ever “Nice Shirt Bad Golf” outing, happening on Friday, June 16th, 2023 at the picturesque Leslie Park Golf Course at 2120 Traver Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
Before you start panicking about your swing or the fact that you haven’t touched a golf club since that one time in middle school, let us reassure you: this event is designed for folks like you who don’t usually golf, or simply excel at being bad at it. We’re all about making the best of our collective ineptitude, after all.
What you need to know.
This event is FREE for all invitees. Event includes a nine-hole round of team scramble golf with cart and dinner. $30 for a plus one.
- Call-time and a social drink at 5:00 PM.
- Dinner is served at 5:30 PM
- Shotgun start at 6:30 PM
- Rental clubs provided on one cart per team
- Dress code: loud and proud (casual for the shy)

Outing Format
- 9-hole round: The game will be played over a shortened course consisting of just 9 holes instead of the standard 18 holes. This makes the game quicker and more accessible for beginners.
- Teams of four players: Each team will consist of four players, so gather your friends or make new ones as you team up to tackle the course.
- Best ball format: In this format, each player takes a shot, and the team selects the best one to continue playing from. This means only the best shot from each group of four counts toward the team’s score, making the game more enjoyable and less intimidating for beginners.
- Two golf carts per team: Each team will be provided with two golf carts to help you travel between holes and carry your equipment. Please use the carts responsibly and follow the course’s cart rules.
- One set of rental clubs per team: Each team will have one set of rental clubs available for use. If a team member has their own clubs, they are welcome to use them instead.
- Strokes are counted as a team: The team’s total strokes will be counted to determine the final score. This encourages teamwork and reduces the pressure on individual players.
Contests
Show off your most eye-catching attire for a chance to win the prize for the wildest outfit on the course.
Get creative with your team name! The most pun-tastic or imaginative name will win this award.
We’re honoring the golfer who manages to lose the most balls during the event.
Are you a magnet for sand traps? This prize goes to the golfer who ends up in the most sandy situations.
Record each team member’s first swing, and the player with the most hilariously off-target tee shot wins. (team-members MUST video-record each swing to count)
Almost a hole-in-one? This prize goes to the player who gets the closest without actually making it.
Salute the golfer who unintentionally lands the most balls in water hazards on the fifth hole.
Kudos to the golfer who sinks the most impressive long-distance putt on the ninth hole.
